Hivesville

...distinguished township

Heading north-west from Wondai, on the road to Proston and Lake Boondooma, is the township of Hivesville. The distinctive building in the town is the two-storey red-brick Hivesville Hotel, which is ideal for a cold ale or an overnight stay.  The town itself was named after the Hives family who owned substantial property in the area around the 1890s.
